Headgear in Tarot Cards act as a symbolic indicator of a character’s state of consciousness, ego, social status or mental state, representing the roles or hats we wear.Common types include crowns indicating authority/consciousness; helmets indicating protection/intellectual conflict;hats indicating unique personas.

The headgear often signals how a figure interacts with his environment or manage their thought process.

Crowns, Diadem and Regal headgears

Crowns: Often signify conscious direction or authority.
The crown of the Emperor represents stable authority, while the crowns of the falling figures in The Tower Card, signifies loss or disruption of power.

Crowns, Diadems and Regal headgear:
High Priestess:Her diadem, often identified as the Egyptian Goddess Isis horned diadem, symbolises her power over life and death.It represents her divine authority, divine feminine and connection to the moon 🌝.
The Empress:Her crown has 12 stars,all zodiac signs representing Cosmic Royalty.Ruled by Venus,sits in the garden of The Universe.The wreath signifies fertility and earthly bounty.
So,both earthly and celestial energies combine to become expansive energy.

The Emperor: Octagonal shape is formal and makes a political statement.The red gemstones signify Action and the white gemstones identify righteousness.It suggests that life requires order.
Hierophant: Triple tiered crown represents 3 fold authority and 3 stages of spiritual hierarchy, earthly administration and being God’s spokesperson.
Justice:Square crown of justice is modest.Talks of Ethics and Balance and brings forth the message that Truth is very simple.

Crowns of the Kings:4 Realms:4 Rulers.

King of Cups:Gold with Red insert:Ruler of Emotions.
King of Swords: Golden headpiece: signifies clarity.
Pure intellect, swift and precise.
Red hood signifies emotions under control
King of Pentacles: Wreath of greenery .
Prosperity is rooted and fertile.
King of Wands:Shaped like flames.Fire made sovereign.I rule by igniting things

Queens represent power from within.

As a Tarot card reader my observation regarding the Crowns of the queens.

Queen of Swords: Butterflies on the crown,signify transformation and insight.
Queen of Cups: The crown is relatively simple and embodies receptive power.
Queen of Pentacles: The crown is studded with rubies signifying their origin from mother earth.suggests being rooted to reality and appreciating the tangible realm.
Queen of Wands:Gold crown with green gems tell us that she is vibrant and alive.Green colour represents prosperity.

Helmets of The knights

In Tarot card reading Head gear Helmets suggest a need for protection during the journey.Also, to focus on intellectual ‘in your head’ battles.
Knight of Pentacles has a green plumed helmet connecting him to nature.
Knight of Swords features a helmet with a red plume suggesting an active, charging mind.
Knight of Cups has a helmet with feathers indicating soft energy.
Knight of Wands sports a helmet with orange plumes talking of creative,fiery energy.
Death Card depicts a helmet with a red wilted feather,suggestive of the depleting life force energies.
